My 2024 bible just recently moved into the book of Exodus. I will admit that usually this time of year, I exit the reading through of the Bible somewhere in Exodus however, this year is going to be different. As I have contemplated making some changes this year, the last three days studying the book of Exodus have been enlightening.

You probably already know that the word exodus means exit but the book of Exodus is actually a continuation of the book of Genesis in the story of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. It's sort of like the "and" to Genesis.

Four hundred and thirty years later after the original 70 people from Jacob's family go down into Egypt we have the story of Moses and his brother Aaron and they have tasked by God with leading the Israelites out of Egypt into the Promised Land. As the Bible study guide says, the story sort of goes "It's gonna be rough but it all ends well."

"Ashlyn, What in the world does the book of Exodus have to do with your crazy travel blog?"

Great question!

I have entitled my blog Exodus for now because travel for us is an exit. It's the "and" portion of work. We work and.... love to travel as our escape, exit, or stress management strategy. Also, we love to see new places especially those near a coastline and enjoy history adventures as well.

Life gets messy and rough a whole lot of times and for us, travel is our exodus into a promised land of God's beautiful creation. We have seen his beauty in creation at the coast time and time again.

Travel with us... via our new blog.
